Leave the M6 at Junction 15 sign posted towards Stoke-on-Trent. Look for signs to Hartington on the A515 between Buxton and Ashbourne. The Charles Cotton Hotel is located in the village.
Directions to Alton Towers
At the T junction, turn right onto the A515 (signposted Ashbourne) and continue forward onto Buxton Road, A515. When entering Ashbourne, turn left onto St John's Street before turning right onto Park Road. Turn right at the lights and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A52. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A52 (signposted Leek) and continue onto Swinscoe Hill. When you have entered Swinscoe, branch left onto the B5417 and follow signs to Alton Towers.
