The Dung Heap
Get your kids ready for an all new interactive adventure playground at Alton Towers Resort - There's Something in... The Dung Heap.
This season Alton Towers Resort is getting an all new adventure playground experience, all themed around the yucky and mucky topic of 'dung.'
There are all sorts of interactive adventures to be had inside the Dung Heap - such as a spider web climbing frame, toadstool 'boingupons', and a mushroom maze.
Children can also get involved in singing along with the Bug Chorus in the Soil Albug Hall, become conductor of a trash can symphony, or spring across a bog. All this whilst parents can watch from their relaxing beanstalk trunk hideaway.
Peugeot 207 Driving School
Do your kids always ask you if they can drive? At Alton Towers Resort kids can obtain their very own driving license at the Peugeot 207 Driving School.
They'll hop aboard their dinky car and head around the track, encountering obstacles from traffic lights to roundabouts - as well as other drivers of course!
Peugeot 207 Driving School recently received the accolade of being the most popular children's attraction at Alton Towers Resort, with it averaging a score of 9.5 out of ten for younger guests who went on it.
The most popular section of the ride is the Bubble Car Wash section, so expect your kids to come out soapy clean!
The Gardens
Away from thrills and excitement of Alton Towers Resort's rides lies the tranquil area of the gardens, all in its own secluded part of the theme park. Acres and acres of landscaped beauty awaits, including a diverse range of features; such as lakes, pools, a Chinese Pagoda fountain, a Stone Henge sculpture, grand conservatories, and a Swiss cottage. There is a particularly spectacular view of the gardens to be had if you are on the skyride cable car between Forbidden Valley and Cred Street.
The initial interest in Alton Towers Resort as a tourist attraction was because of the gardens. Having opened to the public in 1860, they have been pulling in the guests ever since, and the current theme park set up owes much to their existence. They were conceived by the 15th Earl of Shrewsbury, Charles Talbot, who consulted a huge array of artists to implement design it, only to largely avoid whatever they recommended. This is deemed to be the main reason why the gardens have such a number of unique features.
Berry Bish Bash
An indoor play area where kids get to fire foam balls at each other - time for the little ones to be a marksman.
Doodle Doo Derby
All the noises of the farm on the clucking good Doodle Doo Derby! A traditional carousel ride with farmyard animals as the steeds.
